Charity Skydive

My Story

On 13th June 2026,   I’ll be boarding a plane, climbing to 13,000 feet, and—despite every survival instinct I have—jumping out of it.

I’m taking on this skydive to raise vital funds for Home-Start, a charity that believes every child deserves the best start in life.

The Cause

For many of us, the word "home" represents safety and support. But for many families, it can be a place of overwhelming stress. Whether it’s isolation, mental health struggles, bereavement, or financial hardship, the earliest years of a child's life are the most critical—and often the hardest for parents to navigate alone.

Home-Start stands alongside these families. Their volunteers go into homes to provide emotional support and practical help, ensuring that parents don't reach a breaking point and that children have a stable, loving environment to grow up in.

Why This Matters to Me

Having a really challenging childhood meant my start wasn't the best.  There were a lack of services and support locally.  I would like to help as many children have the start they deserve which this charity fully supports.

By jumping, I’m hoping to raise £800. This money isn't just a number; it represents:

[£10] could provide books and toys to help a child learn through play.

[£50] could fund a volunteer visit for a family in crisis.

[£150] could provide a month of specialist support for a struggling parent.

The "Falling" Part

I am terrified of heights, so "brave" isn't the word I'd use—"nervous" is more like it! But the fear I’ll feel for those few minutes in the air is nothing compared to the daily challenges some families face.

Please donate whatever you can. Every pound helps me get closer to the clouds and, more importantly, helps Home-Start get closer to a family that needs them.

Thank you for your support!
